Microsoft Partners with Telkom, Ready to Provide Digital Training to 3 Thousand Employees

Telkom Indonesia is collaborating with Microsoft Indonesia to strengthen the company's vision to improve digital skills for its 3,000 employees.

This collaboration between Telkom and Microsoft will later give birth to a series of digital training programs that can strengthen digital skills for Telkom employees.

In detail, these 3,000 Telkom employees come from four departments or subsidiaries of Telkom Indonesia who are targeted to participate in this digital training program until March 2022.

"We at Microsoft believe that human resources [HR] are the most valuable asset a company can have," said Microsoft Indonesia's Business Strategy Director, Nina Wirahadikusumah in her official statement.

Meanwhile, according to the Chairman of the Indonesia Telecommunication & Digital Research Institute (ITDRI) Jemy V. Confido, updating products and services to make them more relevant to the Indonesian people is their duty.

“This would not be possible without ensuring that Telkom has modern digital talent and excels in their respective expertise. This digital skills training program with Microsoft will make Telkom more agile, flexible, and prioritize the creation of innovation through cloud technology and AI," said Jemy.

The plan is that this initiative will most likely be extended to the Telkom Education Foundation through Telkom University.

Furthermore, this program opens up opportunities for Telkom employees to choose access to Microsoft classes at the basic (fundamental) and advanced (advanced) levels.

He explained that the fundamental class was held independently, meaning that each participant could determine their own study time and focus on modules related to data and AI technology, cybersecurity, and the Azure architecture from Microsoft.

While the advanced class will be guided by a Microsoft Technical Trainer with a focus on digital skills based on the type of work, thus providing added value for employees in carrying out daily tasks.

The types of work that cover this advanced class are AI engineer, developer, data engineer, data scientist, and solution architect.

After completing these classes, participating Telkom employees can take Microsoft's international certification.
In order to maintain the enthusiasm of Telkom employees during the program, this training series will be interspersed with the participation of Telkom's internal developers in the Microsoft Cloud Skills Challenge and Code Without Barriers for Diversity and Branding Telkom Indonesia.

As is known, this training program is a continuation of the collaboration between Telkom and Microsoft which was inaugurated on August 19, 2021.

After the skills of employees, this collaboration will continue to the transformation of products and services, optimization of operations, and the creation of new experiences for consumers.

In a larger scope, this initiative is expected to support Indonesia's needs for 9 million digital talents which are targeted to be met by 2030.
